Angela Shaw
While you are uniquely special, your struggles are more common than you think. We all have challenges, and often in very universal ways. It’s all part of the human experience. Psychotherapy is a great way to help guide you through life’s trials and tribulations. It can be profoundly healing to have a safe space in which to be affirmed and productively challenged. Together we can explore issues related to ambivalence, shame, resilience, boundaries, connection, confidence, and self-development in order to help you fully show up in your life.
I have worked with individuals experiencing depression, unhealthy relationship dynamics, life transitions, substance abuse, and trauma, as well as with the LGBTQ+ community. I also utilize a variety of evidence-based methods such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Person-Centered Therapy.
I base my practice around the use of empathy and empowerment. My style is warm and down-to-earth, while also naming things in order to illuminate insight and draw meaning. The key will be for me to support you in your own self-determination. Wherever you are today on your life’s path, I want to help promote positive change and growth.
