Julie Stern
Through her own lived experience, Julie can deeply resonate with the realities her Millennial and Gen Z clients face. Dating, social media, politics, finances, and demands from school or work can be so daunting. Her main priority as a therapist is to create a non-judgmental, engaging, and approachable environment where you feel empowered to navigate these challenges together. Just having one of those days where you need to vent about your mom, partner, or roommate? There’s plenty of space for that too.
While pulling from many therapeutic approaches in her work, Julie specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). This is a skills-based approach where Julie guides clients through different concepts, including mindfulness, coping through stressful experiences, managing emotions, and communicating effectively with others. Julie also specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), where clients will learn strategies to more easily fall and stay asleep. After each session, clients can leave with tangible skills to reach their goals and create the life they want to live. She has experience with clients of all ages, but specifically enjoying working with students, young adults, and professionals.
