Suhadee (Su) specializes in helping individuals with fear of flying, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and personality disorders, including Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). In addition, she has extensive expertise in helping those struggling with relationship difficulties, perfectionism, procrastination, chronic pain, disordered eating, substance abuse, hospice end of life of humans and pets, and suicidal and non-suicidal self-injurious behaviors. She has vast experience in working with individuals from a multicultural background as well as the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) community.
Suhadee (Su) was intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), a treatment that combines standard cognitive-behavioral techniques for emotion regulation and reality-testing with concepts of distress tolerance, acceptance, and mindful awareness. Proudly, she was one of the founding clinicians of the first Spanish-Speaking DBT Program in the United States at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, and is currently the Coordinator of International Spanish DBT Programs across the world. Ms. Henriquez has been directly trained by Dr. Edna Foa, the architect and creator of Prolonged Exposure (PE), an evidenced based treatment model for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as Melanie Harned, Ph.D, creator of DBT for PTSD. In addition, Ms. Henriquez is experienced in providing Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP) for chronic depression, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Connections and life skills (addressing problems associated with life stages, e.g. career, college, etc.).
