You might be a student who looks like you have it together but feels anxious, burned out, or disconnected underneath. Maybe the pressure of classes, relationships, or figuring out who you are is heavier than you expected. Maybe you're navigating a big transition, far from home for the first time, or just noticing that the way you've always coped isn't working anymore. In therapy, we'll slow down, get curious about what's really going on, and build skills that help you feel more like yourself. I draw from a variety of approaches — including body-based techniques, mindfulness, and talk therapy — to tailor our work to what you actually need. You don't have to have it all figured out to start. You just have to show up.

Everyone deserves a space where they can feel safe, accepted, and truly heard—especially when life gets confusing or tough. My goal is to be that space for you, where we can talk through what’s on your mind and help you feel more in control. I work alongside my mini golden doodle, Ellie, who adds to the calm and comforting environment during our sessions. If you’re dealing with overwhelming challenges, whether from past experiences or current pressures, I’m here to help you make sense of it all. This is a place where you can be your authentic self, knowing you won’t be judged. Together, we’ll explore what’s going on in your life and work through it in a way that feels supportive and healing. We’ll also focus on practical ways to handle stress, discover what makes you unique, and develop skills to make life feel more manageable. You don’t need to have it all figured out right now—if you’re ready to explore who you are and find new ways to navigate life’s challenges, I’m here to help you every step of the way.

Feeling lost, overwhelmed, or like something's just not quite right? You're not alone. Life's journey is rarely smooth; we all experience setbacks, heartbreak, and moments where we feel fractured. At Kintsugi Systems Counseling, we offer a unique and compassionate approach to healing, drawing on the wisdom of Kintsugi, IFS, and Stoicism. Imagine a therapy that doesn't focus on fixing what's broken, but celebrates the beauty of your scars, transforming your challenges into strengths. We believe in your inherent resilience and capacity for growth. Our skilled counselors will walk alongside you, helping you understand and harmonize the different parts of yourself, navigate life's difficulties with greater ease, and discover the gold within your own unique story. My Background and Approach My approach to mental health is holistic and integrative, drawing upon a multi-dimensional understanding of the mind-body connection. I recognize that trauma and past experiences are deeply embedded in both our physical and emotional selves; the body, indeed, "keeps the score." Therefore, my therapeutic work focuses on fostering a harmonious relationship between mind and body, equipping you with the tools to cultivate self-awareness and manage internal dialogue effectively. This process involves not only addressing past hurts but also embracing your unique strengths and vulnerabilities, fostering radical self-acceptance as a cornerstone of healing and personal growth. Finally, I believe in the power of self-compassion and nurturing, helping you develop the capacity for self-care and meet your needs with greater understanding and empathy. My goal is to empower you to shed limiting patterns, embrace your authentic self, and live a more vibrant and fulfilling life.

I specialize in promoting emotional and relational wellness by addressing concerns about depression, anxiety, and other issues resulting from trauma. I am a naturally intuitive and empathetic person, so part of who I am as a therapist is genuinely enjoying listening to people talk about their lives. My primary goal is to create a safe space for you to explore your feelings - snarkiness, self-deprecating humor, cursing, etc. is all welcome and accepted. Over time, I will help you make sense of your experiences and start to see and understand yourself from a more compassionate perspective. I'm also a neuroscience nerd, so another part of who I am as a therapist is helping you understand how your brain works and the how and why of what we’re doing in therapy. We'll talk about subpersonalities, neuroplasticity, memory networks, and more...but don't worry: I have an extensive library of articles, videos, and memes to help explain things. The most important part of who I am as a therapist is believing that therapy isn't just where you learn how to “deal with” mental health problems, but that for those who are ready, therapy can provide real healing. Using IFS-Informed EMDR, I help clients “reconsolidate” trauma memories, allowing you to experience transformational and lasting change.

Sometimes our minds get the best of us, creating unhelpful stories that leave us feeling overwhelmed and seemingly without hope. Reaching out for help in these times can be a difficult but strong first step because problems gain power in isolation and can keep us from thriving. I believe that our lives are made up of stories told and known through our relationships and community. Some of these narratives have provided us with a nourishing source of connection, health, and meaning, while others have disempowered us and left us feeling stuck. Identifying and exploring how you feel about these experiences and relationships can provide us roadmaps to your unique hopes for the future in stronger alignment with your core values and strengths. I am an affirming and inclusive licensed clinical mental health counselor who specializes in treating problems from a relational and holistic lens. In my work with clients, I integrate complementary methodologies including narrative therapy, experiential work, and somatic parts exploration to recover the contexts where thriving and connection have been possible despite the problems influencing your life. I have served diverse populations in private and group practice settings, residential facilities, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. I am passionate about accompanying individuals experiencing personal life challenges and transitions, including depression, anxiety, grief, and loss. Many of my clients are navigating challenging interpersonal relationships and complex family dynamics as well as having suffered personal trauma and oppression, both within their family-of-origin and systemically as marginalized identities. Whether you’ve had experience with therapy previously or if this is your first time trying something new, I would be so happy to guide you through the process and help you regain agency in your life. If any of this resonates with you, our conversations will provide you with a safe space to begin exploring and empowering the lost parts of your experience, emotions, and identity from a new vantage where wholeness and connection are once again possible. Working together from a place of curiosity and heart, I would like to help you to re-author the life story you are writing. I look forward to speaking with you about the work that is possible together!

I work with you to not just understand what's going on, but also to develop tools to help. Tools to stop panic attacks, tools to manage depression, tools to get organized and figure out what you want in life. We work together to see what works reliably for you. In addition to talking things through, in session and between sessions sometimes you might be writing, sometimes trying a challenging behavior change, sometimes engaging in mindfulness, and sometimes using visualizations. My aim is for you to feel better, and to know what to do to keep feeling better or help yourself if problems resurface. And I try to work efficiently with you, so you are back to your life (and ending therapy) as soon as makes sense for you. Give me a call to set up an initial (free) conversation, at 303-870-9195.

I aim to guide clients in discovering their patterns and getting off autopilot to begin living a life they choose! I am strongly connected with non-traditional lifestyles and work to cultivate a safe place for all people, most frequently working with clients in queer, non-monogamous, & kink relationships. Most of my clients are wanting to work on issues mostly unrelated to but within the context of these communities and lifestyles, and are tired of having to spend so much time explaining the context to therapists unfamiliar with their world. I also work with folks looking to explore these aspects of themselves for the first time. Growing up, my father's Navy career caused our family to move every 0.5-2.5 years. Since transition was my constant, I developed unique insight into the complex intersection and paradox of excitement, anxiety, fear, resistance, confidence, insecurity, love, and hate that can all be felt simultaneously during times of major change. This is why I love working with college students and helping them to navigate experiences such as: being away from home and re-configuring family relationships; exploring new friendships and romantic relationships; discovering their life path(s); learning a larger variety of ways to cope, communicate, and relate to themselves and the world; and diving more deeply into issues related to identity (e.g. sexuality, gender, higher consciousness, vocation, etc.). I tailor my approach with each of my clients, but primarily utilize mindfulness, experiential activities, and somatic techniques (i.e. deepening the relationship and communication between your mind and body).
