Therapists for college students near Atlanta, GA
I firmly believe that the mind is the most important part of ourselves. It influences how we experience the world and how others experience and see us in our day to day lives. Just as is the case with any part of the body, there are times when this crucial part of who we are may “not work as well as it should” or be subject to illness due to circumstances that are often beyond our control. We face unprecedented challenges in the world today we owe it to ourselves to prioritize mental health. I work daily with my patients (both adults and children) on improving their mental health and well-being and building resilience to not only meet these challenges head on, but to thrive.
Life can be hard. I get it. Especially when trying to balance the already difficult challenges of daily life and trying to be successful in higher education at the same time. Anxiety, family conflict, relationship problems, imposter syndrome, and other common problems are understandable concerns with everything today’s college student have to deal with. Adjustment to college by itself can be challenging, be it undergrad or even grad school. I believe I can help… I have a very down-to-earth, non-judgmental style and like to think that I am easy to talk to. I have over 20 years of experience in Mental Health and Higher Education. Therapeutically, I use an integrative approach that draws heavily on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Systems Theory, and is influenced by social justice frameworks. Professionally my interests include racially marginalized students, developmental concerns, family of origin concerns, relationship concerns, stress/anxiety induced academic performance issues, men’s issues, and imposter syndrome/sense of belonging. Outside of work, I consider myself a “Blerd”. I’m a serious movie/cinema buff. I’m also a fan of all things Comics and Sci-Fi/fantasy. I enjoy community service and cultural events. (Note: I can not accept current Emory University Students)
Let’s be real — asking for help feels hard. We’ve been taught that being the “strong one” means doing it all alone. That needing support somehow makes us weak, messy, or not put-together enough. Whether it’s from family, culture, or social media… the pressure to look like you’ve got it all figured out is exhausting. But here’s the truth: asking for help is a power move. It means you’re self-aware enough to know when something's off — and brave enough to do something about it. Healing doesn’t make you broken. It makes you real. It makes you whole. As your therapist, I’m not here to “fix” you — I’m here to help you find yourself again. Together, we’ll unpack what’s been heavy, rewire some patterns, and create space for you to breathe, grow, and show up as her — the version of you that’s confident, grounded, emotionally free, and fully in her power. Struggling with anxiety or overthinking? Tired of toxic relationships or feeling like you’re never enough? Burning out trying to keep it all together? It’s time to choose you. Not the perfect version. Not the polished mask. The real you — in progress, healing, and glowing. Let’s do the inner work, set the boundaries, and walk in purpose. Because the goal isn’t perfection. It’s progress.
It can be really overwhelming searching for the right therapist, especially with the amount of help available. It may even add to the stress, anxiety, and indecision you’re already feeling. You may have an idea of what you’re coping with or may be unsure. Perhaps you have had some experience in therapy or this is your first time - maybe you feel you’ve tried everything and still no relief. No matter where you are in your mental health journey, I hope to provide you with your own unique treatment experience. I am a licensed clinical psychologist based out of Evolve Counseling and Wellness and I specialize in helping people to get relief from OCD, anxiety, phobias, negative body image, disordered eating, and trauma. I use evidence-based practices that have been shown to be effective, while remaining sensitive to the impact of the world we live in on each client's presenting concerns, identity, and individual situation. I tailor interventions to help you to get unstuck, get in touch with your resilient self, and be able to live the life you want to live. I also incorporate context, choice, collaboration, and connection in the therapy space. I believe your trust must be earned, and I work to build a supportive, warm, and transparent environment that promotes growth, autonomy, and exploration. It takes effort and vulnerability to feel better and I am here to support you as you navigate towards improved health.

I love working with young adults to find their passion in life, remove blocks that are keeping them from being their true authentic selves, and learn to live a life they have always dreamed of. I practice therapy in Midtown, however, due to Covid, I currently am only offering therapy online. I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Certified in Clinical Anxiety Treatment, and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT). I have 18 years of diverse experience as a School Social Worker in K-12, an Academic Coach in Higher Ed, and as a Therapist in my own Private Practice. I absolutely love what I do. I’ve worked with young adults starting college or somewhere within their college career seeking to achieve academic success, but suffering from anxiety, overwhelm, and perfectionism. I totally understand, college was supposed to be the best time of your life….but it got really challenging. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed with the pressures of living on your own, academic pressures, loneliness, or just feel weighed down by the feelings of anxiety...come talk to me. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address the root causes of your difficulties and build a healthy work-life-school-balance. I utilize a variety of techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotional Freedom Technique, stress management, increasing self-worth, incorporation of meditation, mind/body connection, holistic healing, mood management, anxiety reduction, and self-empowerment. I believe in the power of the mind, body, and soul. I love being outdoors on mother earth and meditating daily. I am a vegetarian and love eating foods that nourish and heal my body from the inside out. Nobody ever said therapy was easy, however, I am a firm believer in “relationships”, so the connection with the right therapist is important. Call me!! Let's see if we are a great fit. You deserve to be happy and I would love to be a part of your journey!!
Hello! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 7 years of experience in the field. I specialize in working with students and faculty in areas of anxiety, behavioral issues, coping skills, depression, panic attacks, racial identity, relationship issues, and self-esteem. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as eclectic & multicultural approaches, as I believe that no two situations are exactly the same. I am an active and empathetic communicator and work to better understand clients and find solutions together. I like to describe a therapy session as a situation where I am a copilot to my client where they take on leadership on the course of our journey. As a copilot, I have the maps and directions. I am here to support my clients in making the best decisions and walking the path to achieving their goals. Success starts when you make a decision to seek help through therapy. Every session attended is a step closer to achieving goals and getting to where you need to be. Every step and every minute counts. Feel free to reach out to book a session and get insight into what this journey may look like for us! I am part of the Path referral network, which means that when you reach out, my team will get back to you quickly to schedule our first session. I am also committed to making therapy affordable. Through Path, I am in-network for most commercial insurances.
Welcome! I am so glad you are taking the time to look over my profile and get to know me better. It takes a lot of courage and vulnerability to seek out counseling. I believe in the power of therapy and the healing it can bring in one's life. My therapeutic approach is a collaborative approach, meaning as your therapist, I will work with you to help you gain insight and develop coping skills that will make an impactful difference in your life. I always prioritize our relationship and want you to feel safe and accepted for who you are. My clients appreciate my authentic personality, my humor, and my ability to empathize with them. Many of my clients come to therapy to gain a better understanding who they are, where they come from, and where they want to go. Sometimes clients come to therapy for just a handful of sessions and find that they got what they needed in that time. Others may find that they benefit from going to therapy for months or even years. There is no right or wrong way. However, you get as much out of therapy as you put in, so it's important to be an active participant in and out of the session. If I feel that I am not equipped or trained in what you are needing from therapy, I am happy to refer you to another professional who may be a better fit. Finding the right therapist is key in experiencing the full benefits therapy can bring! I encourage you to check out my practice's website and contact me via email or phone to get started! I am happy to provide a free 15 minute phone consultation to learn more about what you are needing in therapy and if I will be a good fit for you!

I was born in India, grew up in the Middle East, and immigrated to the United States at the age of eleven. Growing up in three countries taught me to appreciate the diversity of the human experience, but more importantly, helped me understand that deep down inside, many of us want the same things - safety, love, affirmation, and happiness. Following my graduation from Arizona State University in May 2007, I entered the field of mental health with a desire to work in spaces as diverse as the people I intended to help. I began my journey with an internship in private practice, where I developed the skills necessary to treat a wide variety of mood and trauma disorders. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling in May 2012 and spent the next four years working with Native American families on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. My time on the reservation was equal parts rewarding and formative, and it solidified my desire to work with individuals and families who have often been historically overlooked or mistreated in healthcare spaces. Upon moving to Atlanta in 2016, I began my ongoing work with members of local LGBTQ+ communities of color. I also returned to private practice at this time and began my work in daytime television. I was extensively involved with Divorce Court in on and off-camera capacities for several seasons before setting out to found a private practice of my own. The formation of Garuda Counseling is, in many ways, a culmination of my experiences as both a person and as a professional. I am excited to work with individuals for all walks of life, but my passion remains working alongside those who have felt unseen or unheard in traditional counseling spaces. Let’s talk soon - I know we can accomplish great things together.
