Life can be exhausting, Refuel wants to help. Refuel Counseling is a space where you can work on being the best version of you as you navigate life's circumstances.
At Misfit Minds, we work best with students who feel a little overwhelmed by life—even if they’re doing “fine” on the outside. Many of the students we support are carrying anxiety, stress, trauma, or complicated relationship experiences that make it hard to focus, rest, or feel like themselves. Our clients often say things like: “I’m exhausted and always on edge.” “My brain won’t shut off.” “I’ve been through a lot, and it still affects me.” “I don’t feel understood in other spaces.” We’re a good fit for students who want therapy that feels real, supportive, and non-judgmental, not stiff or overly clinical. We especially connect with students navigating anxiety, identity questions, difficult family or relationship dynamics, past emotional harm, or feeling out of place. You don’t need to have everything figured out—or even know exactly what’s wrong—to start. If you want a space where you can be honest, go at your own pace, and be met with compassion, Misfit Minds may be a good fit for you.
Do you struggle with neurodivergent challenges, past trauma, anxiety, or emotional overwhelm that affects your day-to-day life, relationships, or ability to function? Do you feel exhausted by the emotional weight of past experiences or the constant pressure to keep up with everything? Now more than ever young adults are feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and uncertain about how to manage neurodiversity challenges, heal from trauma, and create a life that feels fulfilling and grounded. I believe in the power of connection and the counseling relationship can help you heal, grow, and find hope again.
In a world that often values toughness, being a highly sensitive and soft-hearted person can feel like a burden. We might say “yes” when we really mean “no”. And we may feel like we have to act differently to fit in, even if it means putting others before ourselves. Sometimes it can feel tough to find our inner courage, speak up for what we want, and create positive boundaries. This can be especially true when we’re striving for success in our careers, supporting our loved ones emotionally, or navigating big life changes. Through brainspotting, mindfulness, and somatic techniques, we’ll gently uncover the patterns that have kept you feeling stuck and build the self-trust needed to honor your own needs. As you release emotional weight and reconnect with yourself, you’ll cultivate resilience, confidence, and a deeper sense of balance in your life. If you’re ready to embrace your sensitivity, set healthier boundaries, and reconnect with yourself, I’m here to help. Let’s work together to create a life that feels balanced, authentic, and fulfilling. Reach out today to begin your journey toward healing and growth.

Hello! I am an Associate Professional Counselor with Ellie Mental Health here in Athens. My normal is to work with youth and young adults dealing with anger issues, anxiety, and depression. I Iike to use cognitive behavior therapy to which helps break down thoughts, feelings, and behaviors surrounding a given problem to make it more manageable. I also can integrate Christianity into counseling if desired by the client.
I primarily work with individuals struggling with compulsive behavior, including sex/porn addiction, codependency, internet/social media addiction, and problem spending/debting. Addiction is meant to make you feel less. It provides temporary numbing for lifelong pain. You feel trapped, depressed, angry, anxious, guilty, and afraid when you can't stop. Recovering from compulsive behavior, though not easy, is possible and has been accomplished many times. But it does require a complete change in beliefs and attitude, along with how to deal with life and its problems. Getting out of your head and taking action is the next indicated step. Listen to your mind and body - it's time to stop treating yourself so badly. I can help you learn to help yourself. You can become your own best advocate. All are welcome in my office, including those from BIPOC and LGBTQIA communities.
I know that simply being around others feels like an almost impossible task much of the time; people can be selfish, ignorant, and judgmental, at times even your family and friends. You've endured abuse and often are overwhelmed with emotion. Your external life and what you feel within yourself can feel wholly disconnected -- It is precisely because of this disconnection that we suffer. I am here to listen, to learn of your experiences, and together we will awaken a new sense of yourself by discovering a hidden humanity in others, revealing a world you never thought possible. You don’t have to live disconnected, suffering without end. I approach healing from a relational perspective, in which I believe our most powerful tool for change can be harnessed through relationships. We all naturally have the capacity to relate in ways that promote growth, we simply have never been shown how. I’m here to nurture this experience with you. I understand that taking the step to engage in therapy is a big ask. Trust isn’t easy; it’s fragile. But, I profoundly believe in the power of developing a relationship that promotes learning and spurs curiosity. It’s spiritual for me - the essence of joy, love, and beauty, and I truly wish for all to experience it. Will you take this step with me?

I am a marriage and family therapist licensed in Georgia with just over 8 years of experience working in the mental health field. I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, mood disorders, parenting problems, relationship issues, Autism spectrum and ADHD, as well as assisting many people process different forms of trauma and abuse.
I believe that everyone deserves to be seen as a whole, complex person—not just defined by their past. In therapy, it’s important to me that clients feel fully understood and respected for who they are in all their layers. I'm really passionate about exploring the different parts of my clients' identities and how the world around them shapes their experiences. I take an approach that blends attachment, mindfulness, and cultural awareness. I truly believe that our childhood and adolescent experiences can give us important clues about our present behaviors and patterns. I also think that trauma can be passed down from generation to generation, both physically and mentally, and it’s something that often shows up in our lives in unexpected ways. I have a deep compassion for victims and survivors of emotional, physical, financial, sexual, and verbal abuse. I’m a strong advocate for raising awareness about intimate partner violence and unhealthy relationships. I work with clients to heal from their trauma, set healthy boundaries, and speak up for themselves. I want all my clients to feel empowered during their entire therapy journey, and I put a lot of importance on honoring their autonomy. I believe that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all, and it’s my job to create a space where each person can find their own path to healing. I also love bringing in multicultural and diverse healing approaches. I offer a space where clients can bring their spiritual or religious beliefs into therapy if they choose. Creativity plays a big role in healing for me—whether it’s through visual arts, performing arts, writing, storytelling, music, or just being in nature. I think meditation can come in all sorts of forms, and I encourage clients to find what works for them. I’m certified in Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST), and I have experience in suicide prevention and intervention. I have specific, advanced training in Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), which is the gold standard for treating OCD. Outside of work, you can find me junk journaling or scrapbooking, doing yoga, styling clothes, or dancing around. I received both my bachelor’s degree in Psychology and masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Agnes Scott College.
I hold a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a multi-state licensed clinician, practicing for 9 years. I am bilingual, fluent in Spanish. I have worked with, and feel comfortable working with those individuals who are living different lifestyles and come from different cultures and backgrounds. I believe that the foundation of effective therapy lies in a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship. My approach focuses on creating a safe, judgment-free space where you can be your authentic self. I strive to be real, relatable, and easy to talk to, offering support that is genuine and compassionate. Together, we’ll navigate your challenges at a pace that feels right for you, working toward clarity, healing, and personal growth
