We all have a unique story to tell. Our stories need witnessing, understanding, and even transformation. I believe that therapy provides such a transformative space. It is only in telling our stories, slowing down and recognizing our automatic thoughts and responses that we can reveal our unique inner resources and the truth that we already have everything we need to embrace lives of connection, health, and purpose. It is a creative and collaborative endeavor, navigating internal and external struggles, organizing thoughts and feelings, identifying patterns, and being curious about our own (and each other’s ’) stories. In the past twenty years I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults coping with with anxiety, depression, domestic violence, grief and trauma. Working with adolescent and young adult females struggling with mental health issues, especially those related to self esteem, identity, and the complicated transition to adulthood is a particular passion. I use a blend of clinical modalities including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS); Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction and other mind/body techniques; Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT); and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT

I support adolescents, college students, and young adults, struggling with eating disorders and disordered eating, including concerns that often co-occur such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and self-harm. I aim to provide a collaborative and compassionate space where clients feel supported as they face challenges and better understand themselves. I believe clients come to therapy with an inner wisdom, and my role is to help them access that insight so they can live more authentically. I have extensive experience working with eating disorders and meet clients where they are to support recovery at their own pace. I offer a nonjudgmental, collaborative space to explore how eating disorders, self-harm, and other coping behaviors may have helped you get through difficult times. I’m Whitney, and I help individuals and couples understand how the past may be influencing their present, and how to build the value-driven, fulfilling life they deserve. Many people who have experienced trauma feel as if they simply cannot be helped. Perhaps you’ve tried traditional talk therapy and felt that it didn’t quite move the needle—because trauma lives in the body, not just the mind. While talk therapy can be valuable, it may only skim the surface, leaving you feeling isolated or hopeless. By integrating EMDR, IFS, and somatic-focused approaches, I help clients develop greater awareness of the root causes of their pain while providing practical tools for lasting change. As an LGBTQIA+ clinician who has personally experienced and healed from multiple forms of trauma, I’ve dedicated my career to creating a space for discovery, compassion, and transformation. I know what it feels like to feel broken or alone—to believe your past determines your future. When you work with me, you won’t get a clinician who simply nods and validates—you’ll work with someone who’s lived it, who gets it, and who will collaborate with you to find enduring peace and clarity.
I create warm, accepting, and collaborative relationships that anchor and support people as they problem-solve, deepen their understanding of their own needs, set goals, and move towards the changes they want in their lives. Trained as a psychologist and psychoanalyst, I emphasize the way that relationships shape us. I work with adults-- including undergraduate and graduate students- who are struggling with change or loss related to life transitions, relational issues, aloneness, anxiety, trauma, achievement issues, and grief. I'm an active listener, who is described by my patients as warm, flexible, and collaborative. I see people in my office, located in Concord center or via telehealth.
In our work together I would take a blended therapeutic approach and individualize treatment based on your personal needs, strengths, and goals. My professional journey is deeply rooted in a commitment to fostering healing and resilience in the lives of individuals facing emotional challenges. I have worked for over 15 years with children, adolescents, teens, and adults who feel overwhelmed with worry, stress, and trauma. One of the most rewarding age groups I work with are young adults, navigating transition to college and their experiences throughout. Their progress and bravery has inspired me to narrow my focus to deliver the highest quality care with empathy and thoughtfulness. My focus has been dialectical behavior therapy, treating anxiety with cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness, helping clients find a life worth living beyond their depression, combining behavioral interventions with cognitive strategies, and helping clients take control of their lives by actively making changes. Our past experiences contribute to who we are today but do not have to control our future.
People have the capacity for incredible growth and positive change when they create genuine connections that allow them to feel seen and heard. If you are stuck in unhelpful patterns, or feel that you lack the tools and skills to make the changes you want in life, I am here to help. My clients struggle with family issues, existential concerns, self-injurious behaviors, suicidal ideation, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and trauma. My approach is person-centered and relational, and I also pull from modalities such as CBT, DBT, and ACT. I am affirming to marginalized identities, and have additional training on transgender youth and health. Sessions with me feel supportive and compassionate, but I will also challenge you to identify and outgrow thoughts and behaviors that are no longer serving you. Let’s figure this out together.
