As humans, we all have the capacity for change. At some point, we are confronted with challenging life situations and may respond in ways that do not align with our values. Part of our work in therapy can be towards examining the "why" and making positive adaptations. Therapy can be used as a tool to examine difficult patterns and develop fresh perspectives over time. This work requires much vulnerability and I am here to listen and align in the direction of your own personal breakthroughs. Join me as we work together to create a grounded and inclusive space for reflection, transparency, and self-compassion as you learn to navigate the highs, lows, and unpredictability that life brings. My therapeutic approach is anything but one-size-fits-all. I draw from my strengths-based and trauma-informed training while integrating spontaneity, creativity, and humor when welcomed. I recognize that successful treatment varies with an individuals unique needs, strengths, and preferences. I offer myself as a collaborative and empathic presence and genuinely believe that anyone can make deeper connections within themselves and to their surroundings.
You often wish you felt better about yourself, didn't get so easily overwhelmed, and could handle conflict but aren’t even sure where to start. You’ve found yourself questioning if you should talk to someone. You’ve come to the right place! College life is full of changes and challenges. Even if they are good, changes can sometimes be more than we have bargained for and create a lot of stress and anxiety. Through their work with me, my clients have experienced feeling less overwhelmed by emotions, found effective ways to handle conflict with others (like roommates and partners), felt more connected/present, and gained more confidence in themselves. My clients describe me as welcoming, witty, direct, knowledgeable, and relatable. My style of therapy is very collaborative and conversational as I share tools that you can use in between our sessions. You can reduce the amount of anxiety you experience. At the very least, I can help you manage it in a different way that is less disruptive to you, your relationships, and achieving what you want to in school.
When painful things happen in our lives, we do our best to cope with it in the moment. That might mean we get really good at “just dealing with it,” and “toughing it out.” Maybe we get really good at “checking out,” or maybe we become super skilled at coming up with clever ways to altogether avoid triggering situations. At one point in time, these skills served you well. And maybe they don’t any longer. Often, underneath these patterns anxiety and depression flood every day, drowning out our resources and making life difficult to enjoy. But changing these patterns and finding new hope can seem like an impossible feat. So often we know something is off because of what we feel in our bodies. Your heart starts pounding, that turning in your stomach, breathing feels tight, maybe you feel disconnected. The key to finding relief is not just about thinking differently. I am a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist and offer body-based techniques for approaching these issues. When we can tune into our bodies as well as our thoughts, we can begin to take control of our lives. I believe that you ultimately know what’s best for your own life. Sometimes it can feel scary to start therapy. What I usually tell my clients is “you’re in the driver’s seat.” I’m the copilot and have a map, and can point things out that maybe you didn’t see from your vantage point. Let’s figure this out together. Call or email for a free consultation.

Life is full of transitions, some of our own choosing, others imposed upon us. The challenges involved in life altering experiences can sometimes feel overwhelming and therefore catalysts for common symptoms of anxiety and depression. This is when therapy can be especially helpful. I offer compassionate, client centered services designed to meet the individual where they are at while incorporating a mindful approach toward treatment. While we can't change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand, cope with and resolve current challenges at hand. I have 20 years of clinical experience working with adults, families, couples, children and adolescents. My areas of expertise include a dialectical, evidenced based approach in treating symptoms of depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, divorce, D.V., grief and loss, relational issues etc. Credentialed in a Positive Parenting Program (Triple P). I offer a variety of techniques in therapy while striving to build trust in the therapeutic relationship. These are likely to include dialogue, interpretation, mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, reframing, relaxation techniques, guided imagery, self-monitoring exercises, exploring family of origin, attachment, systems theory, multicultural frameworks, oppression awareness etc.
I enjoy helping to support people as they navigate through the many different waves of life. I help to create a warm, non judgmental, and supportive environment where clients are free to talk about their stories. I draw from a number of different treatment modalities, but most importantly, meet the client where they are at. While each individual's experience is unique, I regularly work with clients around topics related to anxiety, depression, obsessive thoughts, relationship concerns, sexuality, ADHD, life's transitions, familial conflict and many more. In this busy world, it can be difficult to make time to focus on your needs. Therapy provides a space to do so and share your story in a safe and non judgmental environment. Sessions are a time to practice self care, utilize your strengths, and develop tools that help you gain a better understanding of you. I would love to have the chance to work with you and hear your story. Currently, sessions are teletherapy based allowing you more flexibility to be in a familiar setting and join from any mobile or desktop device. I would love to help you with the process of learning more about you and develop the tools to navigate the many waves of life.

My name is Ricardo and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. My work focuses on supporting people navigating eating disorders, OCD, and the unique experiences of LGBTQIA+ individuals. These struggles can feel isolating—but they don’t have to be. I offer a warm, affirming space where you don’t have to explain or justify who you are or what you’re going through. Together, we’ll explore the patterns and pain points in your life with care. I use approaches like CBT, Exposure & Response Prevention (ERP), and motivational interviewing, always through a trauma-informed and person-centered lens. But just as important as the tools is the relationship—we’ll build something grounded in trust and mutual respect. I know how loud the inner critic can get, how overwhelming it feels to be stuck in loops of anxiety, shame, or self-doubt. You deserve relief, and you deserve to feel more at home in yourself. Therapy can be a space where you get to exhale and be fully seen. If anything here resonates, I invite you to reach out. I offer a free 15-minute consultation so we can talk about what you’re looking for and see if we’re a good fit. I’d be honored to walk alongside you on this part of your journey.

My style is collaborative and down-to-earth—I want our sessions to feel like a safe space where you can show up exactly as you are. My goal is to support you in making sense of what you’re going through, building tools that actually fit your life. I view the therapeutic relationship as similar to canoeing - it requires you to provide the steering, while I supply the momentum, and motivation and commitment from both of us to get to the destination. In our work together, I believe in giving you space to explore your story, as it was, as it is, as you want it to be, in a safe, supportive, empowering way that will, in time, allow you to feel confident and secure within your mind, body, and relationships. Within my practice, I utilize eco-therapy as a means to build an objective, curious, and comfortable relationship with the physical world around us, in order to practice building that same relationship within ourselves and with the people around us. It can feel so easy to get swept up in judgemental, shame-based thoughts, creating false perceptions, emotional pain and isolation. And yet, in the same way we prepare for cold winter nights or sweltering summer heat, so too can we weather the storms of our social and emotional worlds. To orient our work towards achieving your therapeutic goals, I work with Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, existential therapy, somatic therapy, animal therapy, ecotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, CBT and mindfulness practices. Utilizing this interdisciplinary blend we can identify and work through the obstacles to then find ways to move forward and love yourself into creating your ideal reality. I accept individuals, couples and families of all genders, identities, religions, and backgrounds. With a client-centered approach I believe you are the greatest expert of your own life, and in order to effectively row this canoe I ask for trust, honesty, commitment, curiosity, and engagement, so I, in return, will provide compassion, patience, knowledge, and reflection.
