Therapists for college students near 02139
Through my own lived experience, I can deeply resonate with the realities my Millennial and Gen Z clients face. Dating, social media, politics, finances, and demands from school or work can be so daunting. My main priority as a therapist is to create a non-judgmental, engaging, and approachable environment where you feel empowered to navigate these challenges together. Just having one of those days where you need to vent about your mom, partner, or roommate? There’s plenty of space for that too. While I pull from many approaches in my work, I especially enjoy utilizing skills-based therapies like Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). These can address concerns like anxiety, stress, interpersonal conflict, sleep, and more. My goal is that you leave each and every session feeling more ready to take on what life is throwing your way. If you’re looking to gain control amidst our out-of-control world, I’d love to connect with you. Please don’t hesitate in reaching out for a free 15-minute consultation.
Is it harder than you expected to be a college student? Are you feeling overwhelmed, stressed out, and anxious on most days? Things can be different. Imagine if you could navigate the stress of schoolwork, balance your time for the people and things that are important to you, make time for self-care, and quiet your mind so you can have more than a few hours of sleep each night. You deserve more than just making it through the day. I can help you figure out how to make things better. My clients describe me as supportive, nonjudgmental, and easy to talk to. I help them learn how to make sense of their past, feel grounded and confident in the present, and start creating the future they want. I specialize in helping people learn how to manage anxiety, stress, life changes, ADHD, and trauma. My practice is culturally sensitive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and neurodiversity-affirming. Many people struggle to find balance and fulfillment in life, but things can get better. Therapy can be a safe space to rediscover your strengths, build confidence, and learn skills to make your days easier. Through our work together, you will be empowered to create meaningful, lasting change. Just about everything in life ebbs and flows which at times can leave you feeling exhausted, overwhelmed and defeated. It is important to remember that although life may feel heavy at this moment, it does get better and you don’t have to feel ashamed of your emotions. You are entitled to recognize and accept the individual that you are right now, while also feeling inspired and motivated by the individual you envision yourself to be in the future. As a clinician, I will meet you where you are, and help you build the self-determination to seek out what may be weighing on your heart. Release what no longer serves you and feel empowered to step into your truth. Much of my career has been trauma-focused, working with adolescents and young adults, to help build self-awareness and understand the mind, body connection. I also work with those struggling with racial, multicultural, and gender identity concerns, anxiety, depression, low self-esteem/image, emotional distress, and family/relationship dynamics. My goal is not to place you in a box, but to use multiple treatment modalities that are tailored to your individual needs including: trauma-focused, psychoanalysis, solution-focused, CBT, and mindfulness practices. My approach to therapy is holistic, strengths-based, relatable and honest, with a sprinkle of humor to brighten your day! If you are ready and willing to give yourself the grace to be unapologetically you, then I am here as your teammate to cheer you on through this journey. I will always honor the person that you are today, as you work towards becoming the person you strive to be tomorrow. *waitlist only at this time*

Welcome! I am a dual Board Certified Nurse Practitioner (psychiatry mental health and Family medicine) I began my career as a Cardiac Intensive Care nurse at a major teaching hospital in New York City. I have 35+ years of experience in nursing and a wealth of experience in almost all areas of mental health. I manage and treat a wide range of mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety disorders, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and bipolar illness. Whether you are interested in finding a medication prescriber who can continue a treatment regimen that is already working well or seeking psychiatric services for the first time, I am excited to work with you to achieve your goals. Many people struggle alone for months or years with symptoms of anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, or other mental health problems. Reaching out for help is a crucial, courageous first step to improving mental wellness. In my practice, I prescribe medications to treat your symptoms when appropriate and safe. Although, I never solely rely on psychiatric medications as a complete fix. I utilize other treatment modalities as well (nutrition modification, sleep hygiene, and physical fitness). The Mind-Body connection is at the core of my treatment plan. I draw from my extensive background in internal medicine and years of psychiatric experience to inform my treatment decisions. We can work together to improve your quality of life. Please email me if you are interested in scheduling an intake appointment.
Our focus is on saving relationships. I am currently seeing clients on zoom. Best to text me at 617-306-4955 with any questions.
Welcome! I am a clinical Social Worker who offers a warm, safe, collaborative and judgement free space, for individuals to process their thoughts and feelings. I have a diverse background working with adolescents, college students and adults in all stages of life. Specialty/areas of interest: depression, anxiety, ADHD, stress management, relationship issues, women’s issues and life transitions.
Hello, and welcome. My name is Kathleen McGah and I offer a comfortable, confidential space for teens, college-age students and young adults to talk about whatever is on their mind, at one's own pace, and without judgment. When people have a safe place to practice putting thoughts and feelings into words, they find they grow psychologically stronger over time - and more satisfied with various aspects of life. I have worked with many students who, initially, have been hesitant to talk with a professional. (Even if one has had a counseling experience in the past, it can still be difficult to start with a new therapist.) It makes sense if you have some hesitation about taking this step. Only you will know if you are ready. If you have been struggling and think it would be good to meet with a therapist, though, please reach out.
Hello and welcome! Having worked in academic settings as a teacher and college counselor since 2004, I understand the multiple stressors that can impact students' lives. In my practice, I primarily lead with an interpersonal, relational framework to assist you in establishing a safe and supportive space from which treatment can begin. My co-therapist is my dog, Dahlia, who will serve as a comforting companion in your introspective journey. I also incorporate elements of Internal Family Systems, Animal Assisted Therapy (Canine), Nature Walk Therapy, Psychodynamic, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, and Mindfulness models when clinically appropriate. Most of my sessions are done online with the option for in-person Nature Therapy sessions, when requested. The emphasis of our collaboration will be on developing new paradigms for self-compassion, cultivating self-care practices, and expanding your self-awareness. Let me know how I might help.

I believe emotional healing happens in a therapeutic relationship. I offer relations-oriented, emotion-focused psychotherapy to clients interested in relieving symptoms, identifying patterns, resolving conflicts, building satisfying relationships, finding fulfillment in life, etc. My work is trauma-informed due to my passion for trauma treatment, especially that of developmental trauma, and an understanding that traumatic experience is existentially inevitable in human life. I also have a particular interest in helping college/graduate students, parents having young children, and new immigrants navigate challenging life situations. Guided by a humanistic and dynamic approach, I help people create desired, lasting changes. Our work together will be highly individualized, to first gain a thorough understanding of you and then meet your unique needs towards emotional growth and other goals. Starting treatment with a new mental health provider can be daunting: it involves opening up with the hope that you'll learn and grow from the experience. I have tremendous respect and admiration for my patients, as they work through challenging emotions, histories, and conflicts. At times, certain thought patterns, self-perceptions, traumatic experiences, or communication struggles can keep people from thriving and building the kind of career, relationship, or personal well-being they crave. It takes courage to work on these issues, and it is a real privilege to get to help people on their journey. I am a Harvard-trained, board-certified psychiatrist providing psychotherapy and medication management to adults in Massachusetts through telehealth. Growing up in an immigrant family and having worked in multiple clinics internationally, I highly value providing culturally competent care. It is very important to me that my patients feel seen and heard. I use a collaborative, holistic approach to care, in which I work alongside clients to define and set goals. I am transparent about the extent of what is and isn't well-known in psychiatry with the goal of helping people make informed decisions that they feel comfortable implementing. If this approach sounds like a good fit for you, please reach out!
I am certified Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapist. In this approach, we get to know the different parts of you — the ones that may overfunction, strive for perfection, people-please, worry, or carry painful emotions. Rather than judging those parts, we learn to understand them with curiosity and compassion. Therapy can be a space to slow down, make sense of what’s happening internally, and help your system feel more balanced and connected. If faith or spirituality is important to you, we can absolutely incorporate that into our sessions. And if it’s not, that’s perfectly okay too.
