My name is Imari Medeiros (she/her), I am a licensed Afro-Latina therapist in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Ohio. I have had the honor of being a therapist for the past five years supporting my clients with eating disorders, body image, anxiety, and trauma. I have also helped clients with sports performance, OCD, ADHD, and immigrants needing evaluations to support their legal cases. College students are some of my favorite people to work, sessions can look like managing stress, identity, life transitions, relationships, and time management, as well as navigating mental health diagnoses while managing college expectations.

Jenn believes everyone is unique and so there is no “cookie cutter” approach. Her person-centered style allows the client to establish goals and then together work as a “team” to attain growth. There is a wide array of adjustments in life such as leaving home, divorce, parenting, job unhappiness, marital strife, mid-life change, trauma, grief, and aging. An avid athlete (soccer player) growing up, and current runner and Peleton spin biker, Jenn believes in balance between physical and mental health. Jenn has worked at a private co-educational boarding school for over 30 years. As the Director of Counseling Jenn works with students and families from an array of different cultures and diverse backgrounds. Scott Smith received a Master of Arts from Assumption College in 2007, with a specialization in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for adults. Scott completed his internship at a top tier training site, The Bridge of Central Massachusetts, where he received additional intensive training in dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) for individuals and groups. Scott has decades of experience working in multiple agencies and group practices, helping individuals and couples who have a wide range of diagnoses. In 2019, Scott began a solo practice focusing on couple therapy using emotional focus therapy (EFT). Scott realized he enjoys collaboration with other providers and decided to form Insights Psychological Services, PLLC with Ashley O'Hearn, Psy.D. to fulfill a dream as well as a need for the mental health community in Boston. Scott is excited about the prospects of clients having an authentic experience and clinicians being invested as much as the individuals are in their treatment. Scott enjoys working with adult individuals and couples (ages 20's to 50's) who are experiencing anxiety, depression, and relationship difficulties. More specifically, Scott likes working with clients who want to gain awareness and insight surrounding their maladaptive behavioral patterns in order to promote change. Those who are in an existential crisis and seeking resolution, would likely be a good fit working with Scott. In terms of helping individuals, Scott provides psychological counseling using a CBT framework through a relational lens. He puts emphasis on learning about his clients' lived experience, while also pushing for change by challenging negative held beliefs or schemata. Scott is sensitive to clients feeling uncomfortable sharing their vulnerabilities and uses validation and encouragement throughout the therapy process to help clients feel understood. When working with couples, Scott uses EFT to help his clients identify the problematic dynamic that occurs in the relationship. He assists each individual of the partnership in identifying their emotional experience when a rupture has occurred as well as aids them in taking an empathetic stance with their partner in order to repair the injury. Additionally, Scott incorporates his DBT training to help couples better communicate to one another in an effective manner. Stylistically, Scott also guides his clients through the entire therapy process to create safety so that clients are able to gradually be able to tolerate uncomfortable feelings. Scott provides his individual and couple clients emotional consulting meaning that he provides feedback on what clients might be doing behaviorally that once was helpful but now is potentially keeping them stuck and unable to move forward toward their life goals. He uses humor and irreverence as a great therapeutic tool.

Welcome to Unspoken Roots Psychotherapy! My name is Edward Chan, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and founder of Unspoken Roots Psychotherapy. I specialize in supporting Asian American college students and young adults as they navigate the unique challenges that can come from balancing personal goals, family expectations, cultural values, and the pressures of academic and professional success. Many Asian American students grow up carrying messages about achievement, responsibility, sacrifice, and making their families proud. While these values can be sources of strength, they can also contribute to anxiety, perfectionism, self-criticism, burnout, difficulty setting boundaries, and a persistent feeling of never being "good enough." You may find yourself succeeding on paper while privately struggling with stress, loneliness, imposter syndrome, or uncertainty about who you are beyond what you accomplish. Therapy offers a space to slow down and explore these experiences without judgment. Together, we can better understand the influences that have shaped you, process the challenges you're facing, and develop practical tools to manage anxiety, build self-confidence, strengthen relationships, and create a life that feels aligned with your own values—not just the expectations placed upon you. My approach integrates evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, DBT, and insight-oriented therapy while remaining sensitive to the cultural, familial, and identity-related experiences that many Asian American students navigate. Whether you're struggling with academic pressure, family dynamics, relationships, career decisions, or your sense of belonging, you don't have to carry it alone. At Unspoken Roots Psychotherapy, I strive to create a space where the experiences that often go unspoken can be explored openly, helping you cultivate greater self-understanding, balance, and fulfillment as you navigate college and beyond.

I am a clinical social worker and expressive art therapist. I'm passionate about art and mental health education and use both to support people as they develop skills and learn therapeutic tools to manage symptoms. In individual therapy, I enjoy working with young adults to help them develop positive relationships with themselves. I want to learn about you, how you think, how you learned those things, and what truly energizes you. Therapy can focus on processing the past using art and EMDR while also focusing on falling in love with the present. My speciality is using expressive art in therapy. Whether you believe yourself to be creative or not, my hope is to guide you through different ways to use art for relaxation and self-expression in group, individual, and family sessions. Sometimes words are not enough.

Maybe what aches most is not the change itself, but the fear that someone you love is slipping out of reach — even if that someone is you. Everything feels different, yet somehow the same. One minute you are putting on pajamas, and the next you are spiraling because it is the first moment of quiet you have had all day. There is this gut feeling that your heart can no longer be bound with band-aids, but soul-searching is a lot before the alarm goes off tomorrow. You do not have to make sense of it all alone at midnight — that is what I am here for. I support clients ages 13–30s through this season of becoming — identity, relationships, independence, pressure, purpose, and transition. With evidence-based care and expressive arts, we use guided reflection, practical strategies, and creative exploration to turn overwhelm into clarity, awaken new direction, and find the light at the end of the tunnel. There is no perfect place to begin. Arrive as you are! I offer virtual therapy sessions for clients located in California, Indiana, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. I am available for a free 15-minute phone consultation, and I invite you to reach out. I look forward to connecting.
