Therapists for college students near Boston, MA
Hi, thanks so much for taking an interest in my practice. It takes great courage and awareness to come to the decision to reach out for support. I see clients in my office in Cambridge, MA, near Davis Square, and in Melrose, MA, as well as by teletherapy/videochat. I specialize in helping people to free themselves from the 'silent conversation' that we have with ourselves throughout the day. By understanding how this conversation influences our thoughts, feelings, and actions, it is possible to adapt it to feel more empowered in life. It is my hope that your therapy experience will feel comforting, meaningful, real, and effective in getting to the heart of your core concerns. I work from an integrative framework in a warm and interactive environment, drawing from holistic, cognitive, and psychodynamic influences to help people to reclaim a sense of choice and authorship in their lives. My background includes more than 25 years in clinical healthcare, school, and community settings working therapeutically with individuals, couples, and groups on a wide-range of issues causing acute and chronic distress. Navigating life changes, especially when things don’t go as planned, can be overwhelming and traumatic. I specialize in working with adults who are going through significant life events and coping with the anxiety, loneliness, and self-doubt that can come along with them. Through a relational and strengths-based lens, I help my clients work through challenging or traumatic moments from their past that are holding them back from fully embracing the present. College students experience a unique type of stress - from adjusting to a new environment, to figuring out who you are, and balancing relationships with people at school and at home. If you find yourself over-thinking, worrying non-stop, or feeling uninterested in things you used to enjoy, therapy can help.
