I am passionate about working with adolescents, young adults, and their families/support systems. I have particular specialties using research-based practices to work with young adults and adolescents with Anxiety Disorders and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. In addition to those specialties, I support clients through a wide range of challenges including, depression, stress management, life transitions, and academic stress. I am trained in a variety of evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP). I have a particular interest in treating Anxiety Disorders and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder in Adolescents and young adults. Hello! I am a clinical social worker with a particular interest in life transitions, neurodiversity and climate psychology. I often work with creatives(and creatively inclined people). My approach: I have advanced training in Gestalt Therapy, an experiential, non-hierarchical and existential approach to therapy. I work relationally, and will meet you where you are in your life right now, in the moment. While we will sometimes look at past experiences, most of our work together will develop through looking at patterns that come up in therapy. Ms. Emily Villeneuve is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor who has worked in several different settings with a wide variety of people with different presenting problems and demographics. She is a graduate of Baruch College and completed her graduate internship at Daytop Village’s outpatient program. From there and over the past several years, Ms. Villeneuve has worked with adults aged 18 + experiencing issues with addiction, anxiety, depression, career challenges and stress, relationship issues, adjustment/transitional stressors, and trauma. She is constantly striving to be informed and competent working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and demographics, including having strong training and awareness working with the LGBTQ population. Client’s can expect a nonjudgmental, respectful space to process their thoughts and feelings with what they bring into the therapy session. Ms. Villeneuve believes in an individualized approach, meeting people with where they are at in their process, and uses techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy. We've got lives outside of school, and all those moving parts can get us feeling overwhelmed, going a million miles per hour all the time, burnt out, lost, unmotivated, or even just numb. I work best with clients who are open to feedback, stay consistent in their care, and stay curious to explore different perspectives of their narrative. AKA, all I ask is that you show up to this space that I will prepare for you in which you can be totally you. Without the filters, photoshop, and all the overthinking of what the "right" thing to say is. You don't have to hold onto everything you're going through alone.
