At different times in our lives, we may find ourselves challenged or feeling overwhelmed by life's demands, our relationships, our careers, our health, or transitions. It is during these challenges, that a trusting relationship with a counselor can give the dynamic support, to sort through our thinking, feeling, and patterns of behavior. Through this mindful work we may begin to see ourselves and our options in a new way. This offers the opportunity to grow and regain balance in our lives creating new strategies for a balanced life and conscious relationships. My approach is based in Mindfulness techniques, Somatic work, Neurophysiology and Brainspotting work. At times I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapies and DBT theory and technique. I provide empathetic, personalized support to college students who are working to adjust to a college environment, managing new and difficult social situations, or working on themselves and discovering their identity now that they are away from home. As a University of Oregon Graduate, I understand the challenges students can face. College can be presented as a fun experience where you meet new people and prepare for your future. While we all hope this is the case, sometimes life happens. The pressure of classes, grades, family, or personal challenges can get in the way of your experience. Having the right support system and tools to navigate life as a student is important, and I am here to help.
Hello. Sometimes we can be dealt a lot of blows or disappointments in life and it's tough slogging though it alone. I welcome working with those who are facing transitions or relationship difficulties, have depression and/or anxiety, among other life issues. Sometimes family issues and past wounds can become a focus of treatment. Receiving therapeutic support during these critical moments can make a positive and lasting difference. I welcome your call to find out more about working with me or to set up an appointment.

When people come to treatment with problems, it is important to remember that they are trying to cope with them in the best way they can. With that in mind, I offer a reflective and engaging partnership with my clients, working toward the goal of helping them to be autonomous, authentic and compassionate in a world that can be extremely stressful. Although my work is solidly grounded in psychodynamic, cognitive/learning, and systems theories, my approach is client-centered, practical and strengths-based. I bring honesty, warmth, and humor to the therapy relationship. I am LGBTQ affirmative and invested in doing cross-cultural therapy which is culturally sensitive. I have a dog, Bracket, who works with me, and I have been doing AAT since 2002. There is a growing body of research which suggests that AAT (Animal-Assisted Therapy) can be helpful with a range of diagnoses, including Depression, PTSD, and Autistic Spectrum. Many therapists know little about online games such as World of Warcraft and Second Life. They may dismiss it as unimportant, or assume it is a problem. I am a gamer-affirmative therapist, meaning I’m more interested in understanding your in-world experience and activity than pathologizing it.
I pride myself on making therapy approachable and actually helpful. I know that starting therapy can feel daunting. In our sessions, you can expect a conversational, warm, and guided approach backed by actionable tools that go far beyond journaling or breathing exercises. I work with virtual clients located anywhere in AZ & OR. WA coming soon! You can easily schedule with me online by clicking the My Website link.
Having trained at the University of Notre Dame (Ph.D., M.A.), UC Berkeley (APA-accredited internship) and Stanford (post-doctoral fellowship), I bring rigorous scientific expertise into my clinical work with college students. In fact, I worked at the University Counseling Centers at all three of these schools and have continued to develop a specialized private practice that focuses almost exclusively on college students. I also teach for Pepperdine University in their Graduate School of Education & Psychology. I help clients with a range of concerns including: anxiety, depression, career and academic concerns, ADHD, relationship concerns (situationships, am I right? :) ), body image and eating disorders, perfectionism, college/life transitions, as well as family of origin challenges (let's say it together, boundaries...). I often work with high-achieving students who often are managing academically but struggling internally. My clients often put others first and themselves last. By the time they come to therapy, concerns have been going on for some time and they've reached a breaking point. They may feel they "should" be able to handle things on their own. As a recovering perfectionist and someone who was riddled with anxiety throughout college, I get it. It wasn't until my own training in CBT that I learned how destructive such thought patterns were. It inspired my clinical approach, as well as three clinical workbooks I've published on Solution-Focused Therapy, CBT, and Positive Psychology with the top mental health publishers. Many of my clients who have been to therapy before often remark how "easy" I make the process. We laugh, we learn, and talk like old friends. Therapy doesn't have to be stuffy or stressful. It's about feeling respected, validated and heard. Learning to take care of yourself, set appropriate boundaries, and thrive! I'd LOVE to work with you! Please feel free to book a complimentary 15 minute consultation at my website below so we can connect!
L Bryant Counseling and Consulting is an agency specializing in mental health counseling. Our services encompass a diverse array of therapeutic options that cater to individuals and families from various backgrounds. We do offer virtual sessions throughout the state of NC, SC, and Oregon.
I believe that counseling should focus on holistic wellness which incorporates physical, emotional, intellectual, social, spiritual, and environmental wellness. Counseling isn't about fixing, but growing. My goal is to create an environment that radiates warmth, comfort, and safety with the intention of facilitating growth and healing through support and empowerment. I am here to walk down the path toward healing with you as you explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a judgement-free environment. I specialize in working with complex trauma, specifically trauma stemming from intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and childhood abuse. I have a special interest in working with clients who identify as multicultural and/or LGBTQ+. I incorporate a compassion-focused approach with trauma-informed interventions to promote self-love and self-acceptance. I believe that each person holds within themselves the ability to heal. We have all experienced pain, grief and hardship, and we all have the capacity for great resiliency. You have gotten to where you are today because you have worked to be here. When humans are provided with support and connection, they can achieve growth and peace.
Trauma can be an invisible wound that can affect many parts of our lives we don’t even realize. I work with clients with depression, anxiety, adoption triad concerns, and trauma-related issues. Change can be hard. Having the courage to reach out and discuss your inner pain and anxiety is the first step. I want to help you work through your past painful experiences, feelings of shame, and traumatic events so that you can create a new life path. I believe each person has their own pace, and am willing to find therapies and strategies that work for you. My approach is open-minded, trauma-based, cognitive, and holistic. I started my career in psychology and counseling when I experienced a suicide in my family. It gave me the courage to make changes for myself, and help people around me who were also suffering grief, loss, and depression. I’m an advocate of mental health issues, a proud adoptee, and a supporter of the arts. **I only accept insurance in the state of North Carolina**
Hi, my name is Greg, and I am a licensed counselor in OR and WA. I have over 15 years of experience providing counseling, and much of that time has been in serving students in universities. I have previously served as the director of the university counseling center at both the University of Portland and Concordia University PDX. I highly enjoy working with college students on a variety of issues. I am a generalist provider that is LGBTQ+ affirming, and utilize an acceptance and commitment therapy perspective to help students with issues such as depression, anxiety, academic stress, life changes, future direction, traumatic experiences, and relationship issues. I look forward to meeting you and helping you in your academic and life journey.
Hello, I’m Sarah. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 15 years of experience working in youth and family mental health services. My background includes work in community mental health and school-based programs as both a therapist and school social worker. My training and clinical experience have focused on supporting youth and families, survivors of childhood sexual abuse and their families, and individuals experiencing school-related challenges. I work with teens ages 14 and older, as well as adults, and strive to create a space where clients feel safe, respected, and supported. I believe therapy works best when built on trust, collaboration, and genuine human connection. My approach is strengths-based, skills-focused, and collaborative. I believe you already possess strengths, resilience, and capabilities that can serve as a foundation for growth and healing. Together, we’ll build on those existing strengths while developing practical skills to help you navigate challenges more effectively. Depending on your needs and goals, this may include strengthening communication skills, emotional regulation, coping strategies, mindfulness, boundary-setting, or problem-solving techniques. My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space that focuses on your strengths, goals, and capacity for growth rather than simply on what may be “wrong.” I want you to feel heard, understood, and empowered as we work together to help you move toward the life you want.
