Our therapists identify as Millennials and Gen Z, which means we can relate to you and your experiences, first hand. We work from a collaborative and solution focused approach to help you create a plan that is forward-thinking and achievable. We are living through unprecedented times and life feels harder and heavier than ever. Please don't struggle alone. We are here to help and look forward to connecting with you.

I was born in India, grew up in the Middle East, and immigrated to the United States at the age of eleven. Growing up in three countries taught me to appreciate the diversity of the human experience, but more importantly, helped me understand that deep down inside, many of us want the same things - safety, love, affirmation, and happiness. Following my graduation from Arizona State University in May 2007, I entered the field of mental health with a desire to work in spaces as diverse as the people I intended to help. I began my journey with an internship in private practice, where I developed the skills necessary to treat a wide variety of mood and trauma disorders. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Professional Counseling in May 2012 and spent the next four years working with Native American families on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. My time on the reservation was equal parts rewarding and formative, and it solidified my desire to work with individuals and families who have often been historically overlooked or mistreated in healthcare spaces. Upon moving to Atlanta in 2016, I began my ongoing work with members of local LGBTQ+ communities of color. I also returned to private practice at this time and began my work in daytime television. I was extensively involved with Divorce Court in on and off-camera capacities for several seasons before setting out to found a private practice of my own. The formation of Garuda Counseling is, in many ways, a culmination of my experiences as both a person and as a professional. I am excited to work with individuals for all walks of life, but my passion remains working alongside those who have felt unseen or unheard in traditional counseling spaces. Let’s talk soon - I know we can accomplish great things together.

My style is collaborative, supportive, and practical. I believe therapy works best when clients feel both heard and challenged, so I balance compassion with encouragement to try new approaches and perspectives. I draw from evidence-based practices, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness techniques, and strengths-based approaches, while also tailoring sessions to each client’s needs. I often work with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity challenges. Whether we are addressing immediate stressors or exploring deeper patterns, my focus is on helping clients build resilience, develop meaningful insights, and create lasting change.

I work with individuals and couples in Georgia who are seeking support for various mental health challenges. Many of my clients have difficulties related to anxiety, depression, and past trauma that get in the way of enjoying life and thriving to their fullest potential. I also work with people who are diagnosed with schizophrenia, bipolar disorders, and related conditions. The foundation of my therapy is a collaborative relationship based on warmth and acceptance. I look beyond the mental health “condition” and seek to understand you as a person, influenced by your identities and past experiences. I will work collaboratively with you to develop goals for therapy and a plan to attain those goals. I provide a tailored therapy experience by utilizing a variety of evidence-based approaches, including CBT, acceptance and commitment therapy, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), interpersonal therapy, emotion-focused couples therapy, and the Gottman Method. Overall, I seek to empower you with the skills to live a meaningful life based on your personal goals and values. Whether you are interested in individual therapy or couples counseling, I am looking forward to connecting with you and working together to create the change you are seeking. I enjoy working with relationships and relational problems, self-esteem and self-hate, trauma and recovery, identity concerns (including but not limited to sexuality, diversity in gender, atheists and other types of secular individuals), and veterans. I also have worked in a VA CBOC outpatient clinic and have an extensive history of work with young adults (specifically in collegiate mental health). I utilize a collaborative approach grounded in interpersonal process. My theory of practice is guided by the needs of the client, using a mix of cognitive and psychodynamic theories alongside elements of feminist and relational theories. I have experience working within varied mental health settings, including veterans and interdisciplinary treatment teams. Lets work together and begin to figure out the answers to the questions and struggles you face. I welcome clients of all ages, all backgrounds, all identities. My practice is affirming of all genders, all sexual orientations, all ethnic identities, all religious identities, and inclusive and welcoming of all intersections therein.

Hi, I’m Sierra (she/her)! I help queer, neurodivergent people-pleasers swap burnout for boundaries and self-doubt for self-love. As a lesbian woman with ADHD raised in the Bible Belt, I know what it’s like to feel both “too much” and “not enough” all at once. If you’ve found yourself here, it probably means… - You’ve spent years assuming you were broken because you’ve never had the language for the very real symptoms you’re experiencing. For example, difficulty estimating how long something will take (time imperception) or losing hours to reflecting on an interaction to make sure you’re not a bad person (scrupulosity). - You wonder, “Do other people struggle with this, or is it just me?” - You overthink social cues constantly, unsure what people want you to say or do, while everyone else seems to just know. - Asking for help feels impossible, especially from authority figures, because fear and self-doubt have been running the show. - Therapy in the past felt like explaining Queerness 101, impeding on your ability to make progress. It also means you’re ready to take the first steps towards… - Discovering you’re not broken, you’re human, and your experiences have names, explanations, and solutions. - Realizing you’re not alone. Countless people have struggled with the very same things, and most of them lead fulfilling lives. - Feeling worthy of taking up space and receiving help, even in spaces that used to feel intimidating. - An affirming therapeutic space where you are truly held and encouraged to be your full self by someone who has walked a similar path (I see you, aro/ace spectrum babes). - Integrating all parts of yourself, even the shadowy parts, into a new story where you are the main character, moving through life with confidence, clarity, and authentic self-expression. This is your invitation to come as you are, messy parts and all, and explore self-compassion, authenticity, and personal growth in a space that sees and values you. Every “should” you obey costs you the life you could have been making. Don’t wait to start reclaiming your time, energy, and peace! Your softer, freer life can begin today.

I am an integrative, humanistic therapist who draws from many approaches to best serve my clients. I place an emphasis on creating a secure therapeutic relationship to foster a sense of safety and openness for clients. As we go through life, we develop habits and coping strategies to protect ourselves. I respect these coping mechanisms for the important role they play in helping us navigate the challenges of life. However, sometimes the very strategies that once helped us can become limiting or harmful. My goal is to support my clients in letting go of those old patterns and in discovering healthier, more effective ways to move forward. My work is rooted in empathy and the deep respect I have for each individual’s unique perspectives and life experiences. Humans are resilient beings, and I hope to help you bring awareness to the resilience within you.

My practice is designed to support students who are feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, or the challenges of navigating new phases in life. Whether it’s the pressure of academic or family expectations, managing cultural tensions, or struggling with uncertainty about the future, I understand how these issues can make even day-to-day tasks feel heavy and consuming. Many of my clients find themselves caught in cycles of overthinking, self-doubt, or feeling stuck between different identities and responsibilities. As a first-generation immigrant and veteran, I bring both lived experience and clinical insight to the work I do. I specialize in supporting immigrants and children of immigrants who are balancing complex cultural dynamics while trying to succeed academically, socially, and personally. My goal is to help students like you break free from the weight of these internal and external pressures, and move toward a life that feels grounded and self-directed. Together, we’ll create a plan that is realistic, culturally responsive, and tailored to your goals. If you’re ready to explore new ways of coping, build confidence, and feel more in control of your path forward, I’m here to offer support, insight, and tools to help you thrive.
