Therapists for college students near 02139
Welcome, I am currently accepting new patients. I focus on stress/adjustment, substance use issues, trauma/ptsd, depression, self harm and dissociative issues. I have training in CBT, DBT, motivational interviewing and have an eclectic style. I'm happy to talk by phone to see if we are a good fit. Please note, I don't take insurance, but I can provide a super-bill that you can submit to your insurance company.
I work with people who long to feel more at home with themselves and in their lives. My clients are curious, self-reflective and have experienced things that leave them feeling hurt, fearful and alone. During sessions we may encounter powerful gates of self-discovery like grief, anger, and shame. Together we get to know these parts of you, approach them with kindness, release painful stories and make meaning. Clients leave sessions feeling closer to themselves, able to move through their lives with clarity and presence. My approach weaves multiple therapeutic approaches within and beyond traditional psychotherapy. I’m trained in IFS and EMDR, and incorporate mindfulness and somatic practices into sessions. I offer reiki, a form of energy healing, to support regulation and rest. I'm also a student of tarot and astrology, and can include these perspectives in the work. I welcome all parts of you to this work. To learn more about me and to see if we are a good match for doing this work together, email me to schedule a free 15 minute consultation call.

Do you need help making your self-care a priority so you can feel less overwhelmed and more in charge of your life? I help my clients to eat better, sleep better and feel better by making small habit shifts that lead to positive results in health, energy, focus, mood, and relationships. Working with me will feel more like coaching where you will get doable next steps to take rather than being analyzed by a silent therapist. Reach out to discuss your situation and see if we are the right fit to help you reach your goals.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) who works primarily with children, adolescents, young adults and families. I specialize in treating clients with anxiety, depression, adjustment, emotional regulation, ASD, ADHD, processing and learning differences. I am currently taking new clients for individual or family therapy at my Newton practice.
Life challenges can lead to unease within our bodies and minds, which prevents us from living a healthy and fulfilling life. My job is to help you navigate those challenges in order to become your best self. I have worked with adolescents and teens managing the challenges of growing up, individuals living with substance use disorder and chronic mental illness, asylum seekers and refugees, and individuals looking for support in many facets of their lives. I utilize a strengths based strategy that helps clients recognize the innate talents that they possess, and build upon those in order to increase resiliency and develop confidence in navigating life challenges. We will work together to help you feel more at home within your body and mind. Reach out to schedule a free 15 minute consultation to see if we are a good fit!
The students I connect with most are curious about themselves and want to understand not just what they feel, but why. Many seem capable on the outside but feel overwhelmed on the inside — struggling with anxiety, perfectionism, friendship or dating struggles, or a harsh inner critic. Some notice the same patterns repeating or feel unsure of who they are and what they want. If you’re ready to look a little deeper, we’ll likely be a good fit. I offer a steady, supportive space to explore the inner stuff you’ve been carrying around. I bring warmth, curiosity, and a sense of humor to our work, helping therapy feel human, relatable, and sometimes even a little fun. I use talk therapy as our foundation, and when it’s a good fit, I may also bring in EMDR, a well-researched approach that helps your brain process difficult experiences — whether from the past or present — so they feel less intense and less triggering. I also draw from practical skills, mindfulness, and self-exploration tools to help you feel more grounded, confident, and in control — ready to move through college with greater clarity, self-trust, and maybe even a few laughs along the way.
My approach to therapy is individualized, compassionate, and integrative. My clients are looking to improve their relationships, develop insight into their own behaviors, or be the best students and people they can be. I take a collaborative approach with my clients as we walk together on their journey to create positive change in their lives.
The universal human need and desire to seek and attain healthy relationships, joy, purpose, acceptance, peace, love, fearlessness (the list goes on...) is a journey that should not be traveled alone. As your therapist, we would like to offer you the ability to have a second set of footsteps traveling along with you as you explore, accept, challenge, change, heal and cope with the unexpected directions life has and will inevitably take you. We work as individual and couples therapists with all populations and we presently focus our practice on young adults and young working professionals. Our practice specializes in supporting individuals with anxiety and mood concerns, helping navigate and improve intimate and family relationships, guiding through major life transitions, and caring for those suffering from issues rooted in systemic racial oppression, socioeconomic barriers, LGBTQIA+ concerns, cultural/spiritual differences, and more. During our initial phone and/or email consultation, we will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have regarding our therapy style (ACT, Solution Focused, CBT, Narrative, Buddhist Philosophy etc.), payment, health insurance and more!
I will help you navigate life transitions and process any traumatic experiences. If college has been a hard adjustment, if you are having trouble managing anxiety, fears, depression, and hopelessness, or if you have experienced a trauma or traumas, then this is the first step in breaking the cycle. Email or call to set up an appointment. My role is to help you increase awareness of your strengths, facilitate learning new skills to process trauma, and coping skills to improve your ability to manage stress, relationships, and communication to improve your overall quality of life. I believe by building on your strengths and tuning in to the mind-body connection can create BIG positive change.
Welcome! I'm so glad you've found your way here. College can be an exciting time, but it can also come with stress, old wounds that resurface, anxiety, and moments where you’re just not sure who you are or where you’re headed. Therapy can be a space to slow down, breathe, and talk honestly about what’s going on - without judgment. My goal is to create a place where you feel genuinely seen, supported, and safe to figure things out at your own pace. We’ll work together to understand the patterns, thoughts, and emotions that might be keeping you stuck, while also tapping into the strengths you already have (even if you don’t always feel them). I see therapy as more than “fixing problems”—it’s also about reconnecting with yourself, growing in confidence, and building a life that feels meaningful and aligned with who you want to be. I use an individualized, integrative approach—drawing from psychodynamic therapy, relational work, and Internal Family Systems (IFS)—because there’s no one-size-fits-all path to healing. This means we’ll explore your past and present experiences, uncover what’s behind certain reactions or habits, and bring compassion to every part of you. I’d be honored to walk with you as you learn to trust yourself, practice self-kindness, and reclaim your voice. Together, we can explore what matters most to you and help you move toward a life with more clarity, confidence, and connection.
Life can be a lot! There are times when people may feel hopeless, isolated, or like they have no choice but to struggle alone. As a queer person, I know the importance of connection and community. My goal is to offer a space where you can feel safe in vulnerability and supported in facing challenges. I work primarily with adults and college-aged individuals and couples experiencing anxiety, depression, or relationship issues. My approach is collaborative, trauma-informed, and grounded in emotion-focused, relational work. I draw from a range of therapeutic modalities to find the best fit for your unique needs, believing that healing is not one-size-fits-all. Being ready to start therapy doesn’t mean you have to feel ready to dive in head-first. Sometimes, the first challenge is simply taking that first step. If you want to do that, I will meet you at your pace with honesty, care, and respect as we work together toward understanding and change.
I am a clinical psychologist. I have worked with a variety of populations including college students and veterans. I specialize in the treatment of insomnia, anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma.
