Life is a journey and it presents us with struggles. Our minds are resilient and plastic, yet when we are blocked we may not appreciate this. I give my clients tools to help themselves adjust and adapt to their individual struggles, such as death of a love one, stress, relational breakups and a spectrum of traumas. I am a guide to help my clients resolve their temporary block.

Life hurts. It just does. We all go through tough times at some point. Tragedy and hardship hit unannounced. These events have a lasting impact - even subtle ones - especially if they took place during our formative years. They can leave us on high alert, isolated, stressed out, hating ourselves, experiencing nightmares, not being able to feel joy, or to concentrate. If you have experienced any kind of trauma, be it a massive event that you didn't recover from, the repeated attrition of abuse, or the subtle and insidious wounding of emotional neglect, there is hope. I'm a trauma-informed mental health counselor and energy psychology practitioner. I specialize in trauma treatment and have gathered an eclectic collection of tools. Not everything works for everyone, so I pride myself in always widening my knowledge of counseling interventions and incorporating holistic, somatic, and mindbody methodologies as well. As a human being I have had many opportunities to use my healing tools. I know what it's like to be deeply hurt, defeated, anxious beyond belief, trapped in my own skin, struggling to even function, going through life numb and on autopilot because everything feels so bad. But most importantly, I know how to overcome and transcend the pain. Let me show you.

Whether you’re seeking a therapist for the first time or looking for a new connection, choosing the right provider can be an intimidating process. Often times the most important factor in therapy is how you feel talking to and sitting with the psychotherapist you select. I treat a wide range of clients from a variety of backgrounds. I am a trauma specialist, and I have a particular focus in attachment trauma, narcissistic abuse, estrangement, toxic family stress, codependency, disordered eating, and complex ptsd. I practice from a relational framework, which is able to uniquely address the nature of these harms and the deeply felt needs of many clients. Working with me will look very different from a cookie cutter therapy response. Instead, you’ll find sitting with me includes personal reflection, humor, emotion and science based care. I am located in Medford off High St and nearby the library. Convenient to Winchester, Arlington, Somerville and Cambridge.

I graduated from UMass Medical school and was trained in adult psychiatry at Cambridge Health Alliance, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital. Prior to going to medical school I received a Masters in Teaching from Boston University and worked as a teacher. This unique background affects my approach to psychiatry. I believe that a good psychiatrist should work with you to help you learn about yourself and your mental health. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic styles including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), psychodynamic therapy, supportive therapy, and Gottman style couples/relationship therapy. During my time at CHA I worked extensively with the Gender and Sexuality Clinic to serve patients of diverse sexual and gender identities. I also co-lead a group therapy for individuals in polyamorous and non-monogamous relationships. I have taught at the American Psychiatric Association’s specialized rotation for HIV Psychiatry, including lectures on how to provide effective telepsychiatry, and I have presented at a national meeting on teaching providers how to better work with patients to prescribe medications. I am a licensed physician in Massachusetts, New York, and California. I offer in person appointments in Somerville, MA as well as secure telehealth appointments to those residing in Massachusetts, New York, and California. I believe one of the bravest things you can do is begin to understand your own story. What often brings us to therapy are life events that we did not sign up for or want to face. Unanticipated endings, dealing with uncertainties and fear can bring us to crossroads. These intersections present an opportunity for our hearts to grow and for our lives to align with our true north. My primary work has been in medical settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and community health. I believe that when working with individuals, the human connection is the core of what makes therapy meaningful and effective. If you are dealing with old patterns, a new health diagnosis, or experiencing significant loss or relationship issues, my practice might be a good fit. I welcome you to give me a call to discuss further whether I can be a good fit for your needs.

I work with adults, adolescents, couples and families to help folks live full and meaningful lives. If you choose to work with me, I will assume you’re coming with problems in your life or your relationships that you’d like to work on. I will hold steadfast to the idea that people are not problems, problems are problems. And while therapy might not be the exact solution to what ails you, it can help a good bit. And I want to help. I’m in this work because I believe in the power of talk therapy to bring about positive changes to our lives. I’ve spent a good bit of time learning how to listen well, ask thoughtful questions, and empathize with my clients. I work with clients experiencing a wide range of issues like depression, anxiety, life transitions, relationship challenges, and general stuckness. I’m confident enough to know that I can be a great fit to some folks and humble enough to know that I’ll be a terrible fit to others. And I’m pretty sure this blurb isn’t enough to determine which is which, but a free 15-20 minutes on the phone could get us close to knowing if therapy together is worthwhile. Let’s chat. I trained at the Brookline Center for Community Mental Health and the Boston College School of Social Work. I’ve done advanced training in narrative therapy through the Narrative Therapy Initiative.

Hello! As a master’s graduate from Boston University School of Medicine, with a concentration in Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine, I am passionate about the connection between our bodies and our minds and how to incorporate mindfulness into our daily lives. I believe that mental health is just as important as physical health and should be treated as equal! In the therapeutic space, my goal is to empower clients to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I specialize in working with children and adolescents, and the unique need of obstacles that may arise in their different stages of life. Additionally, I also work with adult clients, families, and therapeutic groups. My therapeutic approach is integrative, combining various modalities like CBT, mindfulness, and narrative therapy. I use empathy and evidence-based practices to meet each client's unique needs. My work is centered around supporting individuals who are struggling with anxiety, ADHD, depression, mood disorders, behavioral concerns, and family issues. When working with children and adolescents I utilize play therapy and creative techniques to engage young clients in the therapeutic process. I aim to empower children to express themselves and work through challenges in a way that feels both natural and comfortable for them. Additionally, I am particularly attuned to the challenges and opportunities that come with transitional phases of life for adolescents and young adults. From identity exploration to navigating peer relationships and academic pressures, I provide support and guidance to help adolescents build resilience and confidence as they navigate through this season of life. For adults seeking support, I offer a collaborative and strengths-based approach focused on promoting self-awareness, personal growth, and emotional well-being. Whether addressing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, or life transitions, I partner with clients to develop strategies for coping and thriving in all aspects of their lives. My ultimate goal as a therapist is to empower individuals and families to overcome obstacles, build resilience, and lead fulfilling and healthy lives. I am dedicated to providing compassionate and effective care to each individual I work with while supporting them on their journey towards mental wellness and personal growth.
