I am a board certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, providing care to patients throughout the life-span, with a concentration and interest in children and adolescents. I received her Bachelor of Science in Human Services at Northeastern University and later received both her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Nursing at Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions. As a nurse practitioner, my goals are to provide individualized, multimodal care to each of my patients using a combination of psychopharmacology and therapeutic interventions. I have a special interest and experience in treating mood disorders, anxiety disorders, ADHD, trauma related disorders, eating disorders and psychotic disorders.
I work with teens, college students, and young adults hoping to better manage life's difficulties and troubles with emotion regulation, unhelpful thoughts, and problematic relationships. Ultimately, I believe that people in treatment want to change and feel more fulfilled at school or work, in relationships, and with their sense of personal growth. Psychodynamic psychotherapy emphasizes that we will work on these issues together within a safe and supportive relationship. We can collaborate on your goals as we explore new perspectives, new meanings, and new ways of thinking about and coping with your overwhelming life stress. As a psychiatrist, I also prescribe medication when appropriate. I invite you to reach out and see if we would be a good fit for starting this work.
As a therapist, I aim to be as authentic, supportive, and direct as possible; helping you to work on the obstacles standing in the way of reaching your goals. Sometimes this simply means experiencing an accepting and validating environment otherwise unavailable. Alternatively, this may consist of having an emotionally safe space to communicate with your partner or family. My approach depends on your goals for our work together and what degree of challenge you feel ready for. Conflict or connection, I am here to support you. Feedback I've received from clients typically includes comments along the lines of, "You aren't the type of therapist who just sits back and listens for an hour, but who gets me to consider things I hadn't thought of, helped me to figure myself out- what I really want, need, and how to deal". I truly enjoy helping my clients to gain a better understanding of themselves, identifying and building their strengths, and supporting them through difficult times. You may perceive an upsetting event as a minute issue or a monstrous crisis based on how others view it. My perspective however, rests on the impact and significance an experience holds for you. Life is challenging, especially when you are attempting to juggle school, work, relationships and unexpected life events. Reach out. A simple talk will help you determine if I can be of support.

College can be an exciting time of growth, but it also brings unique pressures and challenges. Whether you’re navigating relationships, academic stress, identity questions, family dynamics, or the impact of trauma or loss, therapy can be a place to reflect, process, and move forward. I provide psychotherapy with a focus on resilience—helping you build on your strengths while exploring the experiences and emotions that may be holding you back. I also prescribe medications when appropriate, integrating therapy and medication to support your overall well-being. My approach is collaborative, warm, and grounded in humanistic and relational values. I’ve worked extensively with students and young adults, and I understand how transitional this stage of life can be. Therapy can help you understand yourself more deeply, cope with emotional challenges, and create meaningful change in your personal, academic, and professional life. My office is conveniently located just a short walk from the Red Line at Central Square, and easily accessible by bus. If you’re curious about starting therapy or wondering whether medication might be helpful, I’d be happy to talk with you about the next steps.
there are a number of credentials i could share about myself and ways you might decide if i'm the right therapist for you, but honestly, between you and me, what matters is that i love this work and i believe in this work. i feel deeply humbled to hold people's stories and hearts for a living. the trust that this work requires is no small thing, and i never take that lightly. in my clinical practice, i use theories rooted in an anti-racist, queer liberation, harm reduction, and body-neutral framework. i feel most drawn to this work through an attachment-focused analytical frame. we have all been harmed in relationships, and i believe our healing must also exist in relationships. i know we cannot look at one's personal frame without understanding the systemic and cultural impact that intersectionality has had on one's own experience. i have committed to my clinical work always evolving, and we will both teach each other what comes next. i can't promise a safe place, but i can promise an accountable one. i will create the container, i will show up for rupture, and together we will build a foundation of trust to help you heal, grow, challenge, and shift the things that brought you here. i received my master's in clinical social work from silberman school of social work at hunter college in new york city. after graduation, i worked in community mental health, supporting young mothers on their journey towards recovery from opioid-based addictions. i then joined a group practice where i've worked for many years, supporting folks to heal complicated relationships with food, their bodies, their boundaries, their gender, and their sexuality. i believe i am a partner in this work with you, and as people change, heal, and move forward in their lives, i feel profoundly impacted to bear witness and be a part of your story. it is miraculous. finding the right therapist is a process: trust yourself, explore, ask hard questions. we work for you and with you. i am a white, queer, abolitionist, non-binary, dyslexic, jewish, body-liberatory therapist, and most importantly, a client. the only thing i ask of the folks i work with is a commitment to show up, and the rest we will figure out together.
My passion is working with people who are beginning to realize they feel exhausted and overwhelmed, and think it may be because of patterns of people-pleasing and perfectionism. They are beginning to realize that their drive to be high-achieving might be fueled by low self-esteem. They are performing well in many aspects of life, but they still don’t feel good enough. I also have a passion for working with adult children of emotionally dysfunctional families, who realize that current relationship stress may stem from the stressful family environment they grew up in.

I incorporate psychodynamic, relational, experiential/emotion-focused, cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based approaches in my interventions. I am a Harvard-trained physician who practiced Neurology for 25 years before completing a post-graduate psychotherapy fellowship to allow me to help others in a different way. This major life change informs my work as a psychotherapist. No matter where along our life’s path we find ourselves, and no matter how distressed, stuck or trapped we feel, we can always come to know ourselves more fully and to make changes in the service of a more satisfying, meaningful and fulfilling life. I practice a flexible style of psychotherapy tailored to each unique person or couple. Some prefer a shorter-term, more active therapy that focuses on making changes in the here and now. Others benefit from a longer-term, more self-directed exploration in a safe and supportive environment. Although my focus is on helping people meet their goals through therapy, I offer the option to prescribe adjunctive medication when needed. My aim is always to understand each person’s unique life experiences, beliefs, values and goals and to work with each person to promote enhanced self-understanding and freedom of choice in the service of a life that feels satisfying and meaningful. When working with a couple, my aim is to help the couple work through current relationship difficulties and, if both partners are invested in maintaining the relationship, to help them create a partnership where each feels safe, secure, valued and cared for.
