Psychotherapy lays the emotional groundwork that leads to a more happy and satisfying life. Many people think of psychotherapy, especially some kinds of traditional psychotherapy, as one-sided: the person in therapy talks and the therapist listens. But effective psychotherapy – therapy that heals – works because of the unique relationship that develops between the therapist and the person in therapy. I provide an environment that, because it is safe and non-judgmental, allows the person in therapy to open up in new and often unexpected ways and to experience and express his or her deepest thoughts and feelings. I use more than one therapeutic discipline, but my approach is ultimately tailored to the needs of the person I am working with. I help people become more emotionally self-aware so that they can experience greater self-esteem and satisfaction in life, better deal with depression, and cope with the anxiety that so often interferes with their sense of well-being. In addition to psychotherapy, I am a certified hypnotherapist and offer hypnotherapy to the people I work with. I am also available for hypnotherapy referrals as an adjunct from other clinicians. For safety concerns I am currently working online and by phone.

I help people feel better and improve their lives with music psychotherapy. If you are suffering from anxiety, depression, addiction or everyday stress with relationships, work or family. If you want a fluid and creative approach to therapy that helps you go deep to the core of your issues, I can help. We live in a high-paced world, pulling us in all directions, leading us to feel burnt out and disconnected from other people. You might have become tired of the nagging stress, the strong emotions, the complexity of navigating relationships, or the feeling that something is holding you back from reaching your full potential. Despite all of this, a part of you wants to feel better and move forward. After all, that is why you are taking this major step of seeking help at this moment in your life. In my practice, I construct a safe therapeutic space where you can slow down and breathe. I believe there is no one-size-fits-all formula to address your unique history, personality, and concerns. Therefore, I take a holistic and integrative approach. I consider your difficulties, strengths, where you came from, where you are now, and where you want to be. By working together with clients, I help them cultivate emotional intelligence, deepen honest self-reflection, and increase their motivation to change. Most of my clients aim to reduce stress, improve human connection, and live more meaningful lives. If you are ready to start your journey towards wellness, email me to set up a free no-obligation brief consultation.

My approach is trauma-informed and integrative, drawing from Internal Family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, existential therapy, and Mindfulness-informed somatic practices to support you in processing lived experiences and deepening emotional insight. Grounded in collaboration and compassion, this work centers on your unique values and personal story, while honoring autonomy and resilience. Hi, I’m Mirabelle. I bring a warm and patient curiosity to my clients that creates a supportive, nonjudgmental space to explore what has brought you into therapy. Before working in private practice, I was a hospice social worker supporting people facing terminal illnesses and their caregivers. Accompanying people through illness and death has given me a reverence for existential questions and transitions––for what it really means to be alive. I understand therapy as a space to explore these questions. My therapeutic approach is psychodynamic, which means we will discover how your early experiences and relationships, as well as your unconscious life, shape your present. We will move at the pace that feels right for you. Together, we will find the words to make meaning out of your experience. Our work will help to reduce the symptoms that are causing you problems as well as deepen your connection to yourself and others. I am guided by anti-oppressive principles. In addition to my work in hospice, I have worked in community based and outpatient mental health settings with queer folks, people with serious mental illness and personality disorders, and complex trauma. I enjoy working with people who have received mental health diagnoses, and themes related to illness and medical trauma.

College is hard enough already - you don't need to let past experiences make it even harder. If you can't stop thinking about certain memories, or people, or pain that you have suffered, you might be burdened by trauma. You might also feel unsafe in particular places, or even in your own body. Feeling this way on a day to day basis is exhausting. Know that you can heal from the discomfort that you are experiencing right now. We can work together to help you feel more at ease on a day-to-day basis. Then, when you're ready, we can dive a little deeper into understanding what happened to you. I look forward to walking alongside you on your journey of growth, healing, and self-love. As a licensed mental health counselor with more than seven years of experience, my work centers on supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship challenges, adjustment disorders, trauma, and personality disorders. Warmth, integrity, and cultural competence guide everything I do. In our work together, I create space to explore vulnerability, deepen personal understanding, and move toward meaningful change. Discovering your thoughts and feelings in therapy deepens your insight into how you move through the world and who you truly are. Beginning therapy is a significant commitment, and I don't take that lightly. The strength of the patient-therapist relationship is, in my view, the most important factor in your ability to heal and grow. That's why I strive to build authentic rapport that fosters genuine curiosity, safety to make mistakes, shared humanity and humor, and direct but empathic honesty. Creating this environment that feels supportive and non-judgmental is always my first priority. There is never a challenge too small or too large to address in therapy, and I believe it can be a profound healing experience when you have a trusted therapist you can rely on. There is real value in reflecting on your past experiences to understand how your foundation has shaped you. Our early relational experiences significantly impact attachment styles, and in the present, we often seek out situations that feel familiar even when they no longer serve us. Through this process of exploration, we work together to transform unconscious habits into conscious choices. Central to that work is how you view yourself. Building an empathetic inner world, where self-compassion rewires how your brain responds to stress, is an essential part of the therapeutic process. That clearer view of yourself improves the quality of your choices, ensures your decisions align with your core values, and helps you recognize and overcome fears, dismantle implicit cycles, manage insecurity, and strengthen your communication. This kind of self-awareness becomes especially important during life's transitional moments, when developing healthy cognitions and habits provides a framework for emotional stability and long-term resilience. Together, we can identify maladaptive thought patterns, explore cognitive reframing, and practice reduced reactivity to manage stress and build emotional regulation over time. Throughout all of it, you remain the true expert on yourself. The goal is always a collaborative partnership, one where the safety of a strong therapeutic alliance gives you the freedom to grow toward your most personal goals. My role as a helper and listener began as the oldest sister in my family and grew through many meaningful professional experiences. Before becoming a therapist, I offered career counseling to adults with disabilities, helping them develop self-advocacy skills, build independence, and practice radical acceptance. I also supported college students as they navigated the unique pressures of campus life and the challenges of emerging adulthood, exploring together questions of identity, relationships, and purpose. These experiences deepened my commitment to becoming a therapist. Over the years, I've developed a clinical identity grounded in continuous learning. Every session offers fresh perspective and a deeper understanding of the human experience. My approach is tailored to each person's unique needs, and I am committed to evolving alongside my patients by incorporating creative modalities and evidence-based treatments. In my free time, I enjoy spending time in nature, watching movies, being creative, and exploring new museums and restaurants around the city.

Therapy is a powerful tool for reflection and change. Whether working with teens or adults, my approach is insightful and exploratory, helping clients uncover unconscious patterns. Sometimes, we become stuck in painful or unsatisfying ways of being and need a safe space to learn, heal, and grow. I commonly work with issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, life transition, and relationships. In our work together, I help clients understand the impact of past experiences on the present, with a focus on the here-and-now. I also incorporate breathing and mindfulness practices to help manage everyday stress.
